Hablando con jóvenes e hij@s mayores sobre la sexualidad puede ser una labor difícil. 
 
Como padres y tutores, muchas veces nos preocupamos pensando si hablando sobre el tema da permiso y también si ell@s pueden estar seguros lejos de peligro cuando estén en relaciones. Este taller le ayudará ser más comod@ platicando sobre este tema y sabiendo cuales temas deberá uno mencionar y cuando y las maneras más efectivas para hablar sobre este tema tan delicado.

Talking with our young and grown children about sexuality can be a difficult task.

As parents and guardians, we often worry whether talking about it gives permission and whether they can be safe from harm when they are in relationships. This workshop will help you become more comfortable discussing this topic by covering what topics to cover when and the most effective ways to talk about this sensitive topic.

Family Support Programs have been created with the sole purpose of assisting the family during this journey. This presentation will provide an overview of the services of the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), the eligibility process, and the supporting role of the case managers. Additionally, we will present other services Sinergia provides that do not require OPWDD-eligibility, for example, special education advocacy, parent trainings & workshops, support groups, and recreational programs for children and young adults on the autism spectrum.

Furthermore, we might not know where to start.

Abogados de Nueva York para el Interés Público (NYLPI) proveerá herramientas necesarias para exitosamente entender 1) fidecomisos (Supplemental Needs Trust, en inglés), 2) el proxy de atención médica, 3) la carta de intención, 4) el poder legal, 5) la toma de decisiones respaldada (Supported Decision Making, en inglés) y / o la tutela, y mucho, mucho más.
