El Programa de Educación Individualizado (IEP) es uno de los documentos más importantes que guían la experiencia educativa de un estudiante. Sin embargo, muchas familias encuentran difícil comprender la terminología, las secciones y los requisitos que contiene. Cuando los padres y cuidadores entienden el IEP, están mejor preparados para participar en la toma de decisiones y defender los servicios y apoyos que sus hijos necesitan.
Durante este taller desglosaremos las partes más importantes de un IEP utilizando un lenguaje claro y accesible para las familias. Los participantes aprenderán sobre los niveles actuales de desempeño, los objetivos anuales, las adaptaciones, los servicios relacionados y otros componentes que comúnmente forman parte de un IEP.
Nuestro objetivo es ayudar a las familias a pasar de simplemente recibir un IEP a comprender cómo utilizarlo como una guía para apoyar el éxito académico y funcional de sus hijos.
Ya sea que su hijo haya recibido recientemente un IEP o que usted haya asistido a numerosas reuniones de IEP a lo largo de los años, este taller le brindará información práctica para fortalecer su confianza y participación.
Los profesionales que trabajan con niños y familias también están invitados a participar para fortalecer su comprensión sobre la participación familiar y la comunicación efectiva durante el proceso del IEP.

The Individualized Education Program (IEP) is one of the most important documents guiding a student's educational experience, yet many families find the terminology, sections, and requirements difficult to understand. When parents and caregivers understand the IEP, they are better equipped to participate in decision-making and advocate for the services and supports their child needs.
During this workshop, we will break down the key components of an IEP using clear, family-friendly language. Participants will learn about present levels of performance, annual goals, accommodations, related services, and other important sections commonly found in an IEP.
Our goal is to help families move beyond simply receiving an IEP and toward understanding how the document can be used as a roadmap for student success.
Whether your child recently received an IEP or you have attended many IEP meetings over the years, this workshop will provide practical information that can strengthen your confidence and participation.
Professionals who work with children and families are also encouraged to attend to deepen their understanding of family engagement and effective communication around the IEP process.
