TOPIC DESCRIPTION: Being a parent of a child with special education requires that parents use effective advocacy skills.  Parents must learn about their rights, understand the special education process, communicate regularly and respectfully with their child’s school and practice documenting dutifully. In this workshop and lab parents will learn and practice effective advocacy in order realize their child’s right to a Free Appropriate Public Education.

NOTE: This workshop is conducted monthly either in English or Spanish so please check that you attend the workshop in your preferred language. NO translation is provided at the SEA+L.
