Front Door Information Session Videos Now on OPWDD Website, in multiple languages including Spanish!!For the last two years, the Metropolitan Parent Center of Sinergia, collaborated with OPWDD and its partners for this project. Our team engaged families, who were fundamental providing recommendations that guided our work to ensure cultural and linguistic authenticity of the project. In late November, Commissioner Kerri Neifeld of OPWDD paid a visit to our central office. During her visit, our team members and Day Habilitation clients had the chance to interact with Commissioner Neifeld and her team.

Creativity is required in any person-centered approach for those we support and serve, as underscored within the first pillar of the Justice Center's Code of Conduct.    Here at Sinergia and throughout the years, our very own Efrain Nater exudes this in every aspect of his work as one of our esteemed DSPs (Direct Support Professionals) who is an integral part of the Sinergia team where he currently serves as the Art Specialist within our Day Services team. His leadership, ingenuity, and selflessness modeled daily is so impactful and noteworthy that his achievements were recently recognized at this year's annual Community Care Rx gala!    

Advocacy groups say a workforce shortage is causing group homes helping Americans with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be understaffed.

Our Day Habilitation participants joined the Barbie movie movement!They enthusiastically embraced the Barbie movie movement! They had an absolute blast watching the film while savoring delightful pink bagels. Dear Friends & Partners As the year ends, I want to thank you for your support this year. The Sinergia team has been hard at work through these holidays right until the end of the year, providing support services to our individuals and families while dealing with the post-pandemic reality we all live and work in. It has been a challenge helping our individuals adapt and adjust this past year. We are pleased to share that thanks to the support from our funders, partners and our amazing Sinergia team, we are ending the year on a hopeful note. 2022 has been a year of transition for Sinergia. We have weathered unforeseen economic challenges and had a change in leadership at the helm, all while successfully delivering high-quality services to our service recipients. Sinergia has, despite these challenges, effectively maintained the work that supports our mission and vision.

Sinergia will miss you, Mrs. Veronica Black!September 26, 2022With deep sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our long-time Board Member and Secretary since 1998, Ms. Veronica Black. She was a fearless parent advocate, had a heart of gold, and had a smile of pure joy that was contagious and calming. The Sinergia Family is very thankful for her contribution for many years, which positively influence the life of the people we disabilities we support, their families, and staff. We extend our deepest condolences to her family. Sinergia has lost a great advocate and friend.
